Mouth Guard Clinics will be held on Sunday March 7th, March 28th, and April
11th
 from 1 to 4 at 95 Crimea Street in Guelph , Ontario .

$35 each (no tax)

.Available in several solid colours
.Block-out is used to fill spaces left by missing teeth. This means the
guard can continue to be worn once the adult tooth has fully erupted
.Free carry case with each guard
.Re-fitted upon pickup to ensure comfort

Spaghetti Dinner and Euchre Tournament

Time: Dinner at 5:00pm, Euchre at 7:30pm
 
Costs:
Dinner only……………$10.00 per person

Euchre only…….……. $10.00 per person (must be 18 years of age) Euchre & Dinner…….. $20.00 per person
 
Partners will be randomly selected at the beginning of the euchre tournament.

40th Anniversary Celebration Upcoming Events

 GMFA is proud of its involvement in our community. Official records indicate that our corporation was formed 40 years ago this year. We have been around much longer but 40th has a nice ring to it!
 
Golf Tournament
Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament fast approaches. It is being held May 15th at Brookfield Golf and Country Club in Cambridge. The party starts with a tailgate party at 10:00 with a shotgun start at 11:30. The day will wrap up with raffles, draws and a steak dinner. As those that were there can tell you… it’s a great time for a great cause.  Its earlier this year to kick off the season with party!

Spaghetti Dinner
You are invited to join Guelph Minor Football at a Spaghetti social and Euchre Tournament at the Brookfield\Beaverdale golf club on March 20th. The cost for the dinner is $10 per person or $30 per family (2 adults & up to 4 children under 12). The Euchre tournament will start after the dinner. Cost to enter is $10 a person. We will be at Stone Road Mall this Saturday March 6th from 10am to 3pm accepting registration for all GMFA programs. You can always register online. We now take Master card and Visa.

Six a Side Football

GMFA is starting a new Spring tackle football program. Six a Side football is full equipment tackle football played on a field 100 yards long and 40 yards wide with each team fielding six players. Teams will be comprised of 8 to 12 players. The season runs from the first Wednesday in May to the last Saturday in June. For more information on the game please visit the Football Canada site.
To register go to the Bears registration website, sign in and for the Summer 2010 season choose the Six a side division.
  

NCCP Coaches Clinic

The Ontario Football Alliance is hosting an NCCP coach’s clinic March 26th 27th and 28th at the Flower City Recreation Center in Brampton. For more detail please visit our website.
 

Team Ontario West Try Outs

Team Ontario is holding more team tryouts in April. The cost is $20 if pre-registered and $30 at the door. More information can be found at the OFA website.

 

 

Junior Player Development Camp

Just a reminder that the next and last camp day is March 13th. Please remember to bring all the gear you have been issued… the jerseys are yours to keep. Please arrive between 1pm and 1:15pm.

This is an exciting and busy year for Guelph Minor Football. Here are some of the happenings and upcoming events.

2nd Annual Guelph Minor Football Golf Tournament

 The date is set… May 15th 2010 at Brookfield Country Club. Ask anyone who attended the event last year, it’s a great time for a great cause.

We are looking for volunteers , sponsors and donations. Please contact Mark St Hilaire for more details and to let him know you are ready to step up and help.
 
 

Junior Player Development Camp

Our JPD has started but it is not too late. If you have a player aged 9-14 (birth year 1996 – 2001), there are some spaces available. See the website for details.

 

 

OVFL Season is almost HERE!

The Junior Varsity and Varsity season is just around the corner. For information on teams, coaches, training and contacts please see the team pages in the Tackle section of our website. Players remember to get registered online. You can’t play if you aren’t signed up!

 
 

Spring House Leage Football

Every year GMFA runs our very popular Flag Football Program. To compliment it, this year we are starting a Six a Side football program. It’s a full contact, full equipment game played with six players a side on a smaller field, similar to flag. Football Registrations

Registrations for all GMFA’s programs are online and always available as a link from our website here. For those that want the personal touch, we will be at Stone Road Mall February 27th and 28, March 6th from 10am to 3:30pm with the ability to register your players for any of the Bears upcoming events.

 
 

Attention Coaches!

The Coaches Association of Ontario is holding a weekend conference here in Guelph February 26th-28th. There are NCCP courses and a whole lot more. Details can be found here

 

 

OFA Quarterback Camp

Ontario Football Alliance is holding a quarterbacks camp at the University of Guelph Dome February 17th and 18th from 7 to 9 pm. For more details and to register please visit the OFA website at www.ontariofootballalliance.ca

 

 

In Troubled Times

During these tough economic times it’s often activities like football that families can’t afford. Guelph Minor Football is committed to making sure every kid that wants to, gets a chance to play football. We have always offered assistance with registration and other fees for qualified players, having sponsored 7 players last year. To keep our assistance program totally confidential the Guelph Food Bank administers our program. Contact the Food Bank directly for more information.
